A promo shot of Maggie Speaks from 2003
Maggie Speaks was formed in Chicago in 1998 based on an a musician wanted ad in Illinois Entertainer Magazine. The first public show was at Lyons Brewing Company in Lyons, IL on June 20, 1998. Maggie Speaks was solely a nightclub/bar band, but with an ambitious approach to quality music that attracted quality musicians.
In a city known for live music, the band's reputation for great performances quickly distinguished Maggie Speaks from other cover bands. Soon Maggie Speaks was performing at corporate and private events as well. By 2004 the band was playing over 170 shows each year with shows across the country.
With the creation of the band Spoken Four in 2006 the name Maggie Speaks stopped meaning just one band. Spoken Four brought together another team of gifted musicians with the same commitment to excellent live music as Maggie Speaks. In their first year alone Spoken Four performed over 140 shows.
In 2007 the Maggie Speaks family expanded again. Final Say became the third band to represent the Maggie Speaks approach to live music. Now the bands play a combined average of 450 shows each year.
All of the bands continue to perform in and around Chicago at festivals and nightclubs, but they also travel across the nation and internationally for corporate and private events. The Maggie Speaks name has come to be an exemplar of quality and professionalism in live music. More than a band or even bands, Maggie Speaks is a standard of excellence for musical entertainment and a trusted consultant for people and companies seeking quality performances.
